Privacy policy

Short version: your garden is yours. We keep only what the app needs, and you can delete it any time.

Who we are

Chlorofolio is made by 080Labs, an independent product studio in Bengaluru, India. “We” and “us” here mean 080Labs. This policy covers this website and the Chlorofolio app.

This website

080Labs.in has no sign-up forms, cookies, ads or analytics. Like any web server, ours keeps standard access logs (IP address, the page requested and your browser), which we use only to keep the site running and secure.

Using Chlorofolio without an account

You can use Chlorofolio without signing in. Your garden then stays on your phone only: we receive none of it, and it is gone if you uninstall the app. The only things we receive are the crash reports and usage counts described below.

What we collect when you sign in

Signing in with Google gives us your name, email address and profile photo. You also choose a username, and can add a bio and profile photo. Your garden stays on your phone. Only if you turn on “Back up to the cloud” in Settings do we store a copy of it so it can be restored: your plants and their photos, care logs and journal photos, harvests, seeds, feeding and spray records, compost batches and your shopping list. Turning backup off stops this, and you can delete the copy at the same time.

Location

If you turn on the weather widget, the app reads your approximate location to fetch local weather from Open-Meteo, which receives those coordinates. We never store your location and never read it in the background.

What others can see

Other signed-in gardeners can see your name, username, bio, profile photo, and how many plants and achievements you have, so they can find and follow you. They can also see who follows you and who you follow, unless your account is private, in which case only followers you approve can. If you turn on “Show my garden on my profile”, they (or, for a private account, your approved followers) can also see your plants’ names and where they live, and your recent feeding, pruning, repotting, flowering, pest treatments and harvests. Turning it off removes that straight away. People who can see your garden can cheer an entry; you see who cheered. Your email, photos, journal notes and watering history are never shown to anyone outside a home you join.

Shared homes

If you create or join a home in Settings → Home, your garden is shared with the people in it: they can see and change your plants, care logs, harvests, records and photos, and each log shows who made it. We store the home’s garden so everyone’s phones stay in sync, and send each member an evening summary of what the others did. Leaving a home stops this; you keep a copy of the garden on your phone. If you are the last person to leave, the home and its garden are deleted.

Crash reports and usage counts

To find bugs and see whether the app is being used, the app sends us: an error report when something crashes (the error message, the screen you were on, the app version, your phone model and Android version, and your account if you are signed in); once a day, that this phone opened the app, tied to a random ID made on your phone and to your account if you are signed in; and anonymous daily totals of how often features are used, such as plants added or care logged, with nobody’s name attached. None of this includes your plants, notes or photos.

How we use it

Only to run Chlorofolio: backing up and restoring your garden if you turn that on, keeping a shared home in sync, finding and following other gardeners, sending notifications you can turn off in your phone’s settings, showing local weather, and fixing bugs. No advertising, no selling your data, no sharing it with anyone beyond the services below.

Where it is stored

Your account, and your garden backup if you turn it on, are stored with Supabase (a Postgres database and file storage). Access rules let only you read or change your backup and photos. Sign-in is handled by Google. Reminders are scheduled on your phone and never leave it.

Deleting your data

Delete your account and everything stored with it from Settings → Delete account in the app, or follow the steps on our account deletion page. Erasing your garden in Settings removes your plants, records and photos from your backup as well as your phone.

Children

Chlorofolio is not meant for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data.
